Thanksgiving

On Wednesday, November 23rd our students from the USA, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Poland and Bulgaria participated in a performance to celebrate the American holiday, Thanksgiving. The children performed in plays and recited poems. We are thankful for their hard work and dedication in making the performance a success.

Classes 4e and 4f, Silke Wijnia, Elvira Krempl, Hakon Magnusson and Daniel Langfeldt recited poems about the voyage of the Pilgrims in 1620, and their hard work.
William Bergström recited a poem about giving thanks for the food that land provides us.
The American, Polish, Dutch, Bulgarian and Hungarian first and second graders showed us how the Indians taught the pilgrims to plant, hunt and fish. Everybody loved their enthusiastic play.

The third grader multicultural classes performed a play together in which we could see how the friendly Indians helped the pilgrims to grow food in America and how they celebrated the first Thanksgiving with their new friends. After that Jay DeBie told a poem about a child having eaten his Thanksgiving dinner so quickly he made a mess, then James Timney had a cute story about a turkey who is thankful to be alive after Thanksgiving.
Children were very happy to see a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving cartoon.
Nikol Chaprazova told us a poem about fall being over and winter coming soon. At the end everybody could see wonderful pictures of America with the beautiful song "God bless America".

Thank you to the American teachers, Marielle Emond and Tracey Adams, who helped the children to learn the poems and plays, and Lind Bernadett for organizing the performance.
Also thank you to the parents and friends who visited the performances. Colonel Keith P. Boone, Commander of the Heavy Airlift wing, and his wife, Leslie Boone also joined us to celebrate Thanksgiving.
